Crownstone

A Robin Hood village builder you play in your browser

CROWNSTONESurvival

The Sheriff of Nottingham burned the village of Crownstone and locked the Merry Men in cages. You are Robin Hood. Rebuild under the Major Oak, and every home you raise brings another outlaw back to your side.

How it works

From one burned village to all of Sherwood

A full round of the game, in the order you will meet it.

  1. Press Play

The game opens in your browser. You start as Robin Hood under the Major Oak, with a little wood, stone and food.

  2. Build the village

Open the Build menu and place a workshop, a cottage and a farm. Add furniture inside production buildings so they start making resources.

  3. Grow your Renown

Every building and decoration raises Renown. At each step another of the Merry Men walks out of his cage and joins your workforce.

  4. Hold out at night

After dark the Sheriff's men come to ransack your buildings. Tap them, build Archer Towers, and repair whatever they reach.

  5. Take back the arenas

Finish an arena mission and pay the expedition fee to open the next part of the map. Six arenas now, more on the way.

Watch

36 seconds of Crownstone

Build by day, hold out by night. Recorded straight from the game. The rest is for you to find.

Robin builds a workshop and a cottage, Little John walks free, and then the Sheriff's men come in the night. 36 seconds.

How the legend grows

Raise your Renown from 0 to 20

Word of Robin Hood spreads with everything you build. The greater your Renown, the more of the Merry Men walk free and the bigger you can build. At 20, even Maid Marian's cage opens.

FAQ

Questions people ask

What kind of game is this?

A relaxed village builder with a Robin Hood story. You place buildings on a map, collect wood, stone, food and gold, complete short missions, and defend the village from the Sheriff's soldiers at night.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes. Drag to move the map and pinch to zoom, or use the + and − buttons. To build, pick a building, tap the spot you want, then press Place. It also plays well on a computer with a mouse.

Where is my progress saved?

In the browser you play in, automatically. Close the tab and your village is there when you come back. It does not follow you to another device or browser, and clearing your browser data erases it.

How do I unlock a new arena?

The arena mission sits at the top of the mission list. Finish its three goals, make sure you can afford the expedition cost, and press Unlock. Arenas open in a fixed order, so you can't skip ahead.

What happens at night, and how do I stop the soldiers?

From the second night on, soldiers walk to your buildings. Tap a soldier and Robin shoots him. Archer Towers shoot on their own, and soldiers move slowly near Lamp Posts. Everyone who is left goes home at sunrise.

Why did one of my buildings stop working?

If it looks grey with a red mark above it, soldiers ransacked it. Tap it and press Repair. If all your buildings are slow, your villagers are hungry: production halves when food runs out, so build or upgrade a Wheat Farm.

How do I get more villagers?

Two ways. Build Cottages and Manors: every free bed brings a new settler. And raise your Renown: each of the Merry Men is freed at a set Renown, as long as the arena he is held in is open.

I can't hear anything. Is there sound?

Yes, music and sound effects. Browsers only allow sound after you tap or click once, so it starts with your first tap. You can turn music and effects on or off in the menu at the top right.

When do the Coming soon arenas open?

The Silver Arrow Fair and Nottingham Castle arrive in future updates. There is no date yet. You can already find both on the map.

Where can I follow news and updates?

On X, at @crowstonefun. New arenas and updates are announced there first.

Can I start over?

Yes. Open the menu at the top right and choose Reset progress. This erases your village for good.
